Mortuary embroidery created by Ets David. Winged hourglasses.
The David establishments were a renowned company, active from 1848 and which closed its doors at the turn of the 1950s/1960s.
We recently purchased the stock that had been lying dormant in the family of descendants since the closure.
In particular, we found numerous mortuary embroideries, which were used for wakes and funeral ceremonies.
They are all made on black canvas supports. They were embroidered on panels from which each embroidery was then cut out individually.
We have therefore separated these embroideries to sell them one by one.
Stock is extremely limited, 2 to 4 units.
You will use them to your liking.
Several of our customers have integrated them into “Memento Mori”, thus taking up a tradition that dates back to antiquity.
