Embroidered icon, circa 1850. Virgin Mary 1st sample. 66 cm high!

Embroidery character made for the Russian market, by Ets David during the Second Empire.
The clothes are made of embroidered fabric, face and hands are made of paper.
Feet are made in painted metal.
The face is reported, as done on icons.
It is probably the Virgin Mary, blue and white being the Marian colors.
This work comes from Établissements David, active from 1848 to the end of the 1950s.
Total height 58 cm. Paper liner with a paper refering to an event happened in 1860.
