Infantry officer sabre Consulat/Empire, ebony grip, straight blade.

Classic handle, used during Consulat and Empire, both by cavalry and infantry officers, in the latter case, the blade is shorter.
As this saber measures a total of 93 cm with a blade of 80 cm, we consider that it is a weapon intended for an infantry officer, the sheath, which has disappeared, must therefore have been in leather, those of the cavalry being rather in brass.
The blade is very unusual for a saber, it is very close to typical blades mounted on swords intended more for combat than for show.
There is no longer any legible indication on the blade, it is a little gray, but in good condition.
The handle is real ebony. The whole thing (635 g) gives a feeling of weight in the hand which designates a saber dedicated to combat.
Rather unusual model.
