Sabre infantry officer 1855 type modified 1882, WWI and WWII
Price:
€210.00

Used since 1845 with a leather scabbard, then a steel scabbard with 2 rings, then a single ring in 1882... Exceptional longevity for this saber, which equipped many officers during the Great War. No particular markings on the blade.
A few mm gap between the top of the scabbard and the bronze guard. Either a little dirt has fallen into the bottom of the scabbard, preventing the blade from being fully inserted, or the felt that ensured watertightness has disappeared. Otherwise a fine piece, in its original condition.
Total length 97 cm, blade 83 cm.
