Troop, An XI, light cavalry sabre, 1st Empire
Bronze mount of the hunter type with a long-tailed cap, three-pronged guard, and crossguards.
Sheepskin-covered fore-knuckle with brass olives. Numerous hallmarks and markings on the guard.
Curved blade with a wide hollow face, marked with three hallmarks of the Klingenthal Manufactory: Kranz, Lobstein, and Bisch, all corresponding to individuals active during the same period as indicated by the engraving on the back of the blade: "Manuf Imp du Klingenthal Septembre 1813."
Very solid scabbard. The stinger is entirely characteristic of the model used during the Empire; it is even one of the criteria for detecting copies. It is wider at the bottom than at the top, which makes sense, as it is the lower part that potentially rubs against the ground. Traces of three hallmarks even remain on this same stinger. A fine piece, in the model of a light cavalry hunter saber, typical of the last years of the First Empire.
Weight with scabbard: 2488g.
Total length: 1020 mm, including a blade length of 885 mm.
Apart from a few dents on the scabbard, it is rare in such condition. The price is well justified.
From the collection of an Imperial general. Purchased from one of his descendants, we will provide the name to the buyer.
Our shipper changed the way to calculate shipping cost to countries out of EEC.
Now we pay not only in proportion of weight, but also of volume.
So shipping cost is, most of the time, much more higher than 50€ automatically added at the end of your order.
You must now ask us, to know the real shipping cost that you have to pay, before you pay.
Orders that will not respect this information can be cancelled.
