Imperial order of 3 golden fleeces
Gilt bronze commander's badge.
Double-sided enameled jewelr, faceted blue cabochon set in its center. Tie fragment.
H: 130 mm.
Manufactured in the last century.
In a luxurious blue box/display, 175 x 255 mm, allowing the jewel to be presented at a slight angle.
Beautiful object!
Very fine quality of chiseling and gilding.
Very good condition, the box is accompanied by an explanatory text printed on parchment-style paper.
This set would be ideally suited to a collection of orders created by the Emperor, and you have no chance of encountering an original piece, as the project to create the order was never finalized.
2 different orders of the golden fleece soon existed.
After Napoleon placed his brother Joseph on spanish throne and won in Wagram, he decided to created an order gathering 2 different spanish and austrian orders and adding a french order...But he soon married Marie Louis and did not want to creat problems with his father in law.
So this order was finally not attributed.
