Infantry officer Consulat - Empire sabre. Original sabre, new scabbard

A fine period hilt, in good condition, with its melon-ribbed pommel and guard branch adorned with an olive in its center, typical of models that appeared from the Consulate period onward.
The blade is engraved with traces of gilding. Blade slightly moves inside guard, and the blade is a bit oxidized; it almost looks like Damascus steel... but it isn't.
Otherwise, it's in good condition with a pleasing patina.
New scabbard for use in reenactments.
Total length 86 cm, blade length 73 cm.
