Sword for staff officer Empire

A typical staff sword, distinguished by the symbols on the hilt, used during the Napoleonic era and up to the Restoration. Beautiful original gilding, a fine blade with its original engravings and blued/gilt finish, and a good period scabbard. Good mother-of-pearl grips.
The leather has shrunk slightly, and the chape is no longer attached, but we have not reattached it, in case you wish to have a new leather scabbard made and the original fittings reattached.
This way, you could keep the old leather for preservation in your collection and use the sword for reenactments.
However, be careful not to damage the mother-of-pearl grips, which are over 200 years old.
The hilt displays the usual staff symbols, notably the Greek-style helmet. Note also the central motif on the guard branch: two eagles (attributing this sword to napoleonic period), devouring a celestial body (moon or sun?). Rare condition for such a sword. Very reasonable price for such condition.
