Silverplated sword dedicated to victory. Empire/Restoration
A very fine sword with exceptionally delicate chiseling, a beautiful blade with blued and gilded edges. Good original mother-of-pearl grips.
A fine example of the best one could find in a fantasy officer's sword from the First Empire, and even during the Restoration period, although no specific Empire symbols were used.
Overall length 99 cm, blade 86 cm.
The scrolled hilt is decorated with a Victory blowing the trumpet of glory.
The quillon features a head that is likely that of Athena, goddess of war.
The original silvering is largely preserved; a beautiful piece in rare condition, a must-see.
