If the original manufacturing was of very high quality, time has nonetheless taken its toll, and the cotton inside the gold braid has weakened. This means that, in the event of pulling or repeated friction, the inner threads may break.
No claims can be made regarding the oxidation or any issue of internal strength, as the price reflects this condition.
This braid is therefore best reserved for restoring antique costumes or for use on surfaces not exposed to regular friction or strong tension.
For decoration, framing, or any other creative use you may imagine, its outer appearance remains truly appealing.
