A fine period hilt, in impeccable condition, with its melon-ribbed pommel and guard branch adorned with a diamond shape in its center, typical of models that appeared from the Consulate period onward and were used until the Restoration and the introduction of the 1821 model. The blade is engraved and marked at the ricasso, with some visible oxidation.
A fine period scabbard that has the unique feature of being able to be worn with a pouch or attached to a belt by a ring.
This type of short sword was typically worn as a sword by the infantry; this hybrid system is uncommon.
The leather is almost cut a few centimeters below the chape, but the scabbard remains in one piece.
We glued a thin piece of leather to the back of the scabbard to prevent it from separating, a separation that would be difficult to reverse.
It's not visible from the front; hanging on the wall, your sword will look great with its original scabbard.
Given the fragility of leather over 200 years old, this sword cannot be used for reenactments with its original scabbard.
If you wish to remove it from its scabbard, lay the sword and scabbard horizontally on a flat surface and pull it out while holding the chape with your other hand.
Do not leave the empty scabbard horizontally without support; this will almost certainly result in breakage, and we will not accept any claims in this regard.
These swords with period leather scabbards are becoming increasingly difficult to find, so it's worth taking some precautions.
