Costume of prince Murat during Smolensk battle

Eccentric costume like Murat used to wear.
Originally made of silk, we used melton to allow a long use.
The price includes: jacket, scarf, hat, trousers.
We don't plan to do this uniform twice...it is just another sample of what we can do.

Murat was one of Bonaparte's first supporters. He allowed him to submit the royalist insurrection up against the Saint-Roch church.
He became one of Bonaparte's close friends and a fiery cavalryman.
He married one of the emperor's sisters, has been commissionned as one of the first marshals and played determinative roles in many battles (charge d'Eylau, for instance).Napoleon rewarded him with many titles : Grand Duke of Berg, King of Naples, etc.
Later, in order to keep his crown, he turned against the emperor, wich only delayed the loss of his kingdom.
A reckless expedition with a few men to regain his rank turned into a fiasco. He was summurally killed after years of glory and many type of excess.
The soldiers nicknamed him "King Franconi", after a famous circus, because of his excentric clothing. The emperor, very modest in the choice of his own clothes, once told him, a day his was wearing an outrageous uniform : "Murat, get dressed as a Marshal of the Empire".
