Good solid 28-fluted handle of the model used from the Empire to the restoration.
Numerous hallmarks, marking on the back of the blade: "Manuf Imple du Klingenthal, January 1813".
Original scabbard in good condition.
Such sabers are not rare, but they are rarely equipped with their scabbards.
Everything is consistent, and it's not that common.
One of the rare weapons of the 1st Empire at a price which remains very modest, for an object which experienced the Great Imperial epic.
Total length 735 mm including blade 595 mm.

This was kind of the "Swiss Army knife" of the Empire soldier. It was used to chop wood as well as to cut up food. Although they were absolutely useless when fighting against cavalry sabres, infantrymen would nevertheless hold on to it. Complies with contemporary rules.
