Genuine sabre made in first half of XIX th century, new scabbard.
Blade was used for fencing...
Numerous inscriptions and stamps.
Total length 73,5 cm, blade 59,5 cm.

This was kind of the "Swiss Army knife" of the Empire soldier. It was used to chop wood as well as to cut up food. Although they were absolutely useless when fighting against cavalry sabres, infantrymen would nevertheless hold on to it. Complies with contemporary rules.
