Dragoon officer sabre - Au grand Napoléon...

We made a mould of an original sabre to be sure to obtain the best copy.
Then we copied exactly a 2 centuries old blade, and we added on it 2 mottos, same as on a blade found in Russia from Baron "Meda".

On one face you can read " Au Grand Napoléon 1er Empereur des Français et Roi d'Italie", on the other side was indicated name of his regiment followed by " Pour l'Honneur et la Patrie".
Merda arrested Robespierre and Couthon on night between 27th to 28th july 1794 (9 to 10 thermidor) An II.
Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur in 1804 then officer in 1807, he becomes baron Méda (it sounds better in french!).
He fights with his regiment, in battles of Eylau, Wagram, Smolensk.
He is deeply wounded during Moskova-Borodino battle on 5th septembre 1812, is promoted general de brigade and dies 3 days later.

Total length 112 cm, blade 98 cm. Total weight with scabbard 1787 g, without scabbard 997 g.
This type of sabre appeared in 1784 but was used during all Empire by all cavalry except hussars, because it was very appreciated and many officers adopted it .
Many types of blades were used. Garde des consuls used it, then imperial guard for dragoon officers for instance but also dragoon officers of line!.

2) THE FLAT-RATE SHIPPING COSTS added to your order are INSUFFICIENT to cover the ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING SWORDS AND SABERS OUTSIDE OF EUROPE. Shipping costs are calculated based on the volume of the packages containing these items!
Therefore, you must contact us to find out the actual shipping cost for your order and any additional charges.
Your order cannot be processed if you do not pay the shipping costs charged to us.
